I can understand, I think, the tears of the old man as he kisses his grandchildren goodbye at the end of a visit. It might not be something I can put into words, but the feelings bounce around inside my chest, reminding me how fleeting our time is. We cannot possibly know fully, but to have an idea... an inkling... of the passage of time, our own impermanence and the impermanence of those we cherish, causes a sorrowful breeze to blow through the soul.
Today... just love.
