How to be an Artist by Joseph Beuys
Slump yourself.
Learn how to observe snakes.
Plant impossible gardens.
Invite someone really dangerous for tea.
Make small signs that are saying 'yes’
and spread them all over your house.
Become a friend of liberty and uncertainty.
Look forward to your dreams.
Cry at the movies.
Swing as high as you can on a swing by moonlight.
Cultivate different moods.
Deny being responsible.
Do it because of love.
Take a lot of naps.
Give money away. Do it now. The money will follow.
Believe in magic.
Laugh a lot.
Take a bath in the moonlight.
Dream wild, fantastic dreams.
Draw on walls.
Read every day.
Imagine you could be enchanted.
Giggle with children.
Listen to old people.
Open yourself up.
Dive in.
Be free.
Praise yourself.
Let fear fall.
Play with everything.
Entertain the child in yourself.
You are innocent.
Build a castle with blankets.
Get wet.
Hug trees.
Write love letters.
