While living in Tucson, I started a version of the Casey Chronicles shortly after Casey was born in 2002. Being so far from our family and friends, I wanted a way of sharing his progress and milestones with everyone. The Chronicles have taken on many designs and this website is the latest. I hope to get the site updated further so that all previous years photos are viewable and visitors can see just how much our boy has grown and changed (yet remained the same in so many of the ways that matter most).
In my countless hours of photographing Casey from the very beginning, I uncovered a passion for photography that endures today and I find that I have morphed into something of a Naturalist. All good things.
For me, the value of photography lies in its ability to remind me of my place in the world and the fact that suffering is not unique to me, it is a collective human experience which we all feel. I can choose to focus my lens on it and magnify it, or take a more positive approach and share my naturalistic view of the world. Not as a means of escaping life, but rather connecting with it in a more meaningful and natural way which keeps me from taking myself (or my own worries) too seriously.

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... It remembers the little things, long after you have forgotten everything." ~ Aaron Siskind
